Love Island fans notice something weird about driving date

Love Island is a reader favourite for the Liverpool ECHO and although the ITV show is not to everyone's taste, when treated properly on social media and through use of proper SEO tactics, it can reap big rewards for our website.

Viewers of the show regularly read stories about new contestants (especially if they are local) and the fallout of each major development.

During one particular episode in last year's series, one of the couples were out on a ‘driving date’ but there was something peculiar about it.

As the car travelled along and the couple discussed their relationship and future.

Dozens of fans weren’t convinced that Alex was even driving for most of the segment and took to Twitter to call out the show.

While the story was written based on the reaction from social media, before publishing I ensured to change the headline to ensure it would rank highly on Google.

This meant making sure top keywords were in the headline while also keeping it at no more than 15 words and not giving away what the ‘audience reaction’ is exactly.  As a result, it was picked up by Google News.

The success of this can be seen from the screenshot below as nearly three-quarters of traffic sources came from search.
